Privacy Policy

Sakay is owned and developed by DumlaoAndCo. This policy describes how Sakay (“Sakay,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information on sakay-app.com (the “Site”). The Site is a pre-launch marketing website. It is not a live ride-hailing service. This policy is written for the Site as it exists today. It is not a substitute for review by Philippine counsel, and it does not register Sakay with the National Privacy Commission.

Who we are

What we collect

If you submit the contact form, we collect:

• Full name
• Email address
• Whether you are a rider, driver, vehicle owner, cooperative, travel partner, investor, or other
• Your message

We also receive technical data that our host (Vercel) and email provider (Resend) log in the ordinary course of delivering the Site and mail, such as IP address, browser type, and request time. We do not ask for payment details, government IDs, or precise location on this Site.

How we use it

We use this information to:

• Reply to your inquiry
• Keep a record of correspondence
• Operate, secure, and debug the Site
• Comply with law if required

We do not sell personal information. We do not use contact-form data for third-party advertising.

Who processes it

• Vercel hosts the Site and the contact API.
• Resend sends the message to ride@sakay-app.com. Your email is used as the reply-to address.

Those providers act on our instructions to run the Site. They may process data outside the Philippines. By using the Site or sending the form, you understand that transfer.

Cookies

We use a first-party cookie named sakay_consent (and a matching browser storage key) to remember whether you chose “Accept” or “Necessary only.” That cookie is necessary for the banner to stay dismissed.

We do not set advertising cookies. We do not currently set analytics cookies (for example Google Analytics). If we add analytics later, we will only load them after “Accept,” and we will update this policy.

You can change your choice anytime via Cookie settings in the footer. Blocking cookies in your browser may cause the banner to appear again.

How long we keep it

Contact messages are kept as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable follow-up period, then deleted or archived unless the law requires longer. Hosting and mail logs follow each provider’s retention settings.

Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its IRR, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, subject to legal limits. Email ride@sakay-app.com. We may need to verify your identity.

Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
